Mount Morgan Central State School students will be combining their cultural studies with technology lessons this term when the year 5 & 6 students endeavour to tell the dreamtime stories of Australian Aboriginals in claymation and bring this together using Audacity and Microsoft (r) Movie Maker. The Students have been researching the projects and intend to plan out the storylines with some innovative ideas coming to the fore on how the action is going to be conveyed in clay. Professional sound mixing techniques are going to be learnt when blending narration with appropriate soundtracks in open source software Audacity. These keen students will exercise creative skills through sculpting clay into the characters and sets of the stories. All told the project offers the students opportunities to enhance their story telling artistic expression, expand their cultural awareness and strengthen well grounded technical knowledge while creating a piece that they can cherish later in life.
